Please give thanks:
to Almighty God for the Joint
Mission; for favourable weather; for the safety of our speakers as they
travelled a long distance each night; for George and Billy as they faithfully
preached the Word of God to us and for the seeds sown in hearts and minds;
for good attendances every evening: for the Youth
Nights and for encouraging attendances; for the Conveners of the Mission
Steering Committees and for all who worked so well together from both
Congregations to ensure the smooth running of the Mission; for the great source
of Blessing this time has been for everyone and an opportunity to renew our
faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus.
Please pray for:
all member of our Congregation,
remembering especially those who are ill.
Please pray for them and their families, that they
will be deeply conscious of God's loving presence.
those who suffer from stress and
anxiety and for those who have deep worries and concerns known only to God and
to themselves. Father we ask that they might
realise your sovereignty that you are in control and that they can put their
trust and faith in you.
all of us at this Christmas season
that it might be a time when each one will stop and look to the manger at
Bethlehem and realise God's most precious Gift to the world in Jesus Christ, His
only Son and our Lord and Saviour.
To Him be all praise and glory!
'May
the Lord bless you with the gift of His perfect peace this Christmas
and a
sense of His presence in your heart every day.'
At the recent Mission Steering Committee the need of prayer was discussed. Our best plans will have impact without much prayer perparation. It was decided that setting up small groups which meet at times to suit individuals and families was probably the best way to see this come about. Not everybody is able to make the TuesdayFellowship or stay back on Sundays, but all can join in a group of 2 or 3. Within the next few weeks, you will be approached about this.
In the meantime, give some thought to who you would be able to meet up with, maybe someone you live fairly near, or even as a family unit. Most of us lead busy lives. If something lesser has to be set aside to give time to pray, it will be well worth the adjustment. The original Triplets, I under satnd were started by Billy Graham crusades and the time set for meeting together was to be 10 to 15 minutes only. You've probably heard it said, 'Little prayer, little blessing. Much prayer, much blessing.'
